Virtually every week someone asks me "Can I upgrade my Ci100 (or Ci150) cartridge filter to the larger Ci200 or Ci250?" the simple answer is "Yes!" You certainly can upgrade your smaller Ci100/Ci150 cartridge filter, and turn it in to a Ci200 or Ci250. So now I'm guessing you want to know how?

We've included everything you need to know and do, to transition your smaller Ci100 or Ci150 filter, over to a larger Ci200 and Ci250 sizes. I must say it's pretty simple too. Do you currently have a Ci100? If so, there is another, simpler option, you can upgrade to the larger Ci150, and all you need do is swap the cartridge elements over. The outer dimensions of the Ci100 and Ci150 cartridge elements are identical. The Ci150 simply has 50% more filter blades. Which means a 50% greater surface area, therefore lasting (lets say approximately) 50% longer before needing to be cleaned. The same is true for the Ci200 upgrading to the Ci250. The outer dimensions are identical, only it's a 25% larger surface area, rather than 50% larger.
So what are the steps required to fit the larger Ci200/Ci250 filter elements in the smaller Ci100/Ci150 filter?
- Remove the Cartridge Filter Lid Lock Ring
- Remove the slimline Ci100/150 top lid
- Remove the old cartridge filter element (Ci100/150)
- Insert the new, larger Ci200 or Ci250 cartridge filter element
- Place a new O-Ring on your new Ci250 Top Lid
- Place the new, larger Ci200/250 top lid on the Filter Body
- Replace the existing Cartridge Filter Lid Lock Ring
It's a good idea to replace the top lid O-Ring, so we've include a new O-Ring in the Ci1xx-250 Upgrade Kit for you.
